Robinson, the king of California water, laid Mountaingate into the Santa Monica foothills — South, North, and Lake. Eucalyptus, canyon, a cart path that photographs like a secret. The Divide is last light cutting a fairway in half. The Lean is the tree that does all the work. It is a Los Angeles course that pretends it is not.
